The ministry of hospitality is practiced as St. John’s in several ways.
On Sundays, greeters at the Welcome Stations, as well as the clergy, keep an eye out for newcomers. If you are visiting and have questions please stop and ask one of these helpful volunteers. Newcomers are encouraged to fill out a visitor’s card so we can greet you more fully in the days to come.
The doors of the Cathedral House are open daily from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday and until noon on Friday. The church is open for prayer and the facilities of the parish are available to various groups and individuals. There are several meetings each week of Alcoholics Anonymous and there are service groups and others who use the meeting spaces of the parish from time to time.
The large hallway connecting the first floor rooms of the Cathedral House is known as The Gallery. This unique ministry provides a showcase for local artists who submit their work to juried exhibitions that are open to the public during the open hours of the Cathedral House. Art works are available for purchase, with a commission from all sales going to support the work of the Cathedral. The volunteer Gallery Guild oversees this particular ministry of the Cathedral.
A Gift Shop and the Saint John’s Bible room are also available for browsing on Sunday and Tuesday from 11AM-1PM.
