The Rev. Canon Albert Tarbell The Rev. Canon Albert Tarbell – Honorary Canon (ret.)

The Reverend Albert W. Tarbell was born in Bangor, Maine, in 1909 and earned his Bachelor's degree at Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He also attended Yale University and later earned his Master of Divinity degree at The General Seminary in New York City. Following graduation from General in 1959 he began ordained ministry at the Cathedral of St. John in Albuquerque. In 1964, he founded St. Aidan's Church in the burgeoning Northeast Heights of Albuquerque. (St. Aidan's later merged with St. Matthew's Parish, and the St. Aidan's campus became St. Mary's Church.) Following his retirement in 1978, Canon Tarbell returned to the Cathedral and he remains active there today, celebrating the Eucharist on Wednesdays and assisting at other services from time to time.
