The Rev. Canon Adams Lovekin – Honorary Canon (ret.)

The Reverend Doctor Adams Lovekin is a retired priest-psychologist who was ordained in 1954 and has been assisting at the Cathedral since 1976. He was a missionary in Liberia, the founding Vicar of three congregations and the founding executive of the Samaritan Counseling Center of Albuquerque. He was made a Canon of the Cathedral by Dean Alan Dennis in 2005.

Currently, he assists at Sunday Services, conducts the Tuesday Healing Service and Eucharist, does hospital and home visitations and facilitates occasional Bible studies. He is the Chaplain for the Order of St. Luke.

Father Ads and his wife, Ann, are blessed with eight children and 14 grandchildren. Ann is active in the Altar Guild and the Daughters of the King.

Canon Lovekin served as Canon in Charge of the Cathedral during the summer of 2006.
