The Cathedral welcomes Bishop Michael Buerkel Hunn and other guests to two exciting events this weekend – The Celebration of a New Ministry as the Very Reverend Kristina Maulden is officially instituted as Dean of the Cathedral of St. John on Saturday and the bishop’s official visit and confirmations on Sunday. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend these celebrations.

On Saturday visiting priests joining us as participants in the service will be the Rev. Tom Dahlman, preacher and the Rev. Spencer Brown, litanist; both of whom hail from Dean Kristi’s former diocese of Oklahoma. We will also welcome the Rev. Canon Cornelia Eaton from the Episcopal Church in Navajoland who will serve as lector. Welcome!

Sunday’s service will include confirmation of several parishioners including: Jeffrey Cooper, John Holverson, Madelynn Jewell, Melissa Kantor, Dawn Madden, Richard Maulden, Travis Rourk, Mark Schneider, Kathleen Schneider, and Kenneth Tyger. The service will also include the reception of Joseph Kantor, and Jennifer Rahn-Bartlit, and the reaffirmation of Beth Bierwirth, and Julie McVay.

Parking on Saturday will be available in the MFA lot and in the parking garage. Please use these parking areas if possible, leaving the lot adjacent to the church for those who are less able to walk distances.

Reminder:  The Annual Meeting will follow the 11:00 AM service on January 26th. You will hear reports from the Dean, Treasurer, and Wardens; and elect new vestry members and delegates to diocesan convention.

Faithfully, Diane Butler, Jr. Warden
