Seldom at a loss for words, I find it difficult to express what I’m thinking as I write my last column as your senior warden. It’s been a remarkable 26 months, and we’ve had quite a journey together. Here are some of my thoughts…

  • Getting from “there” to “here” was definitely a group effort. Vestry and Chapter members, staff, selection team along with dozens of volunteers stepped up to do what was necessary to stabilize, assess, discern and then act to get us to where we are today: a financially stable, growing Cathedral church infused with new leadership…on the cusp of greatness. Thank you, one and all.
  • Congregational support has been strong throughout these months. I’ve always had the sense that we have operated in the spirit of mutual trust, with confidence that we were heading in the right direction. We have grown closer as a family. Thank you, one and all.
  • Dean Kristi is ushering in a new era of joyful possibilities, and in less than five months has given us a glimpse for an exciting future. In 2020, the vestry will articulate a new vision for the Cathedral. The future looks bright, indeed.

Please join us Sunday at the Annual Meeting, which will be in Kaseman Hall following the 11:00 a.m. service. Bring something to share at the potluck lunch.
